On February 5th 2012 we flew to Freetown to attend the first graduation ceremony of the University of Makeni and to visit all the projects that the Trust had funded and decide what next steps were needed. (We paid for this visit ourselves, not wanting to use Trust charity donations).

£1,000 raised by cool walkers

Despite always choosing the coldest days with the most snow, a group of generous friends has contributed around £1000 through regular Christmas walks over the past three years. The picture shows some of them in the Loxley Valley, Sheffield in 2011. Their money goes to funding the scholarships of the children of blind beggars in Makeni.

$100,000 grant for St Joseph’s School

The Pro Victimis Foundation’s Board has approved a grant of $100,000 towards the school’s budget for 2011-2012. The Makeni Trust Fund actively supports development projects in and around the city of Makeni, in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. It is a small registered charity based in Sheffield, UK, since 2009.
