University of Sheffield students launch exciting project to link cities.
“The Makeni-Sheffield Project is a collaboration between a core team of master’s students of the University of Sheffield and partners at the University of Makeni (UNIMAK), including students and staff. Together, we believe that the connection between Makeni and Sheffield is special and deserves to be strengthened.
Our objectives are to compile and show off the cities’ relationship in one virtual site, to promote new cross-cultural understandings through our blog, and to encourage new projects and collaborations that pull our cities closer together. The end goal of all of this? To achieve the official recognition of Makeni and Sheffield as twin cities.”
The Makeni Trust Fundactively supports development projects in and around the city of Makeni, in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. It is a small registered charity based in Sheffield, UK, established in 2009.
